Nominees and asset transfers to Crimea and Europe: iBoto founder Dmitry Kucherov comes under scrutiny of law enforcement
Moscow law enforcement officers have taken an interest in Dmitry Kucherov, the owner of a major distributor of Chinese robotic vacuum cleaners and window washers under the iBoto brand.
Kucherov runs his main business through the companies "Aiboto" and "Aiboto Rus," managing them via his nominees Sergei Ivanov, Petr Ershov, and Oleg Smolenychev. The iBoto trademark itself is registered to his wife, Yulia Kucherova. At the same time, according to sources, Kucherov has been living in Portugal for several years. Before settling in the EU, he transferred the development company "Sanna-K" in Crimea to a relative.
The interest of law enforcement is no coincidence: the market for smart Chinese household appliances remains one of the fastest-growing and most profitable today. In the first quarter of last year alone, Russians purchased about 2.8 million vacuum cleaners and cleaning devices worth over 32.4 billion rubles in total.
